Astounding.

Wonderful!

Ireland Votes to Approve Gay Marriage, Putting Country in Vanguard

Landslide. What is happening in the world? Sea changes.

There is a lot more to this than meets the eye. It is or used to be one of the most catholic countries.

And yet, when I lived in Boston, the kindest hearted people on the inside were the South Boston toughs.

So hard to figure out.

Oppressed people reach out to other oppressed people. The Irish have suffered long under the rule of others.

And they fight back.

This all gives me goosebumps. I have always had great hope for so called "gay rights" which are really fundamental human rights. Restoration.

Some of our greatest patriots were gay people who fought back the best way they could. Yes. And that is still true today.

They also fought back with humor.

Passing

Malcom Boyd died today.

He was a hero to the gay rights movement.

This only takes a few minutes to see his last thoughts.

A wonderful human being with a lot of wisdom for us all.

The next mile

Give them an inch and they'll take a mile!

"The gays" are never happy. Look at this. They are now pushing even harder! What do they want?

Gay Rights Advocates, Dealt a Supreme Court Victory, Focus on Tough Terrain

That tough terrain is The South. And of course the mountainous west. Sons of the pioneers.

More nipples

The nipple war is still raging.

When I did the tattoo story, the one below about tattooed nipples, I was looking for a picture and I ran across this recent article.

The Facebook War on Nipples

Fascinating.

Did you know that it is only recently that men's nipples became liberated?

This would coincide with my father's experience in the thirties.

My Dad loved to take his shirt off. He did have something to show for it. He was a natural chest man. He had the pecs and the nipples that some men work their life away for today.

I freely admit that part of my gay attraction machine is men who have chests like my father (and hairless too) and I am not, by any means, the only one who is looking. It is the homo-standard.

I suspect that, as is now the case, this is a matter of body type (mesomorph) and genes as much as anything but he was also a hard physical worker. He had a tough manual job even though he wore a necktie (grocery store manager) and he worked hard at "hobbies" like building our house, cutting trees and the like. We can, and I do, go to the gym to get this kind of body. At times I have achieved some degree of this look but I am also a child of my mother's family who have kind of sloppy musculature. I remember that my cousin Philip was a hunk for about ten minutes when he was 20 but that didn't last any longer than my brief time in the sun.

But I digress. The point is that men have only recently been able to bare their tits and I think this is one of the reasons that, particularly gays, have such a good time admiring and fooling around with them.

Not so with women. They are still in the tit dark ages. It is just not proper to bare the female chest in some venues. There are a lot of reasons for this which I won't go into but it is a particular hypocrisy when media like Facebook ban something like fe-nipples when they allow almost everything else. It probably has something to do with that asshole Zuckerberg.

In fact, when it comes right down to it, nipples are nipples wherever they are.

Here is a puzzle.

Only C and E are female

BIG WEEK

24BRUNI-popupBruni pretty well sums it up. Nicely.

Marriage and the Supremes

This week the Supreme Court will hear arguments on two landmark gay marriage cases. Or, rather, human rights cases.

The oppressive DOMA in which the bigots admit defeat by trying to show that marriage needs defending and the Prop 8 case, which we are so much a part of here in California where rights have been taken away by a gaggle of catholics and mormons with deep pockets.

The fact is that it does not matter what the Supreme Court in its limited wisdom says or decides about this. The outcome is totally clear.

Gay marriage is and will become a reality. Human rights will be restored to a sizable cohort of American citizens. The iron grip of the religious right on the machinery or politics in this country will be diminished. The phrase "gay rights" will become quaint and anachronistic.

That last one will take a bit longer than the first two. And the second longer than the first.

It is a radical shift for the times. A complete flip of the zeitgeist. And I was there. With my husband.

BRAKING NEWS

Wow.

Judge Strikes Down Military Ban on Gays

This is going to cause a lot of turmoil between the Obamas and the gay organizations.

The motion was filed by the Log Cabin Republicans which is a gay group!

The Judge is right here in my Federal Judicial District, at Riverside. Just over the pass.

If I were to be on a federal jury this is where I would be called.

So, these are wild times. OK Obamas. Time to work it.

Incidentally, one of the labels below has been and is, today, "gay rights". I am changing that to "human rights".

You know, they are already asking and telling and carrying on.

It is just that some are getting punished for it.
