The first part of the fifth season ofTeen Wolf today.

I am not embarrassed by my addiction to this show. It does not harm anyone else. And I try to keep it in bounds.

I actually like the monster shit and the transformations.

I adore the stars.

There are almost always great shirts off and even naked scenes. Man meat.

What is not to like?

The makeup is pretty startling. I mean, I know it is not real but the way things unroll it is often pretty upsetting.

All of us have a guilty secret. This is mine.

The object of many slash fiction sites, cartoon and other, the series has generated a huge subculture on the internet. Some refer to a melded character "Sterek" referring to Stiles and Derek. The actor playing Derek quit so there are a few new pretty faces. Not as rugged.

There is also a pretty, hunky villain now in a continuing role. When the hotties play a bad guy it is even more diverting to watch them work.

There was always a gay subtext, one of the characters would be a gay man. There still is one but he is also black. A two-fer. Cheating a bit with that one. The price of renewal I suppose. Faggots do not play well in Topeka. But apparently hot shirtless straight men do. I will not argue. We all win this one.

Much of the fan attention is the fantasy of it. Sexing it up or playing out some themes that the series has not focused on.

This does not hurt the attraction.

I can't stay far away from Beacon Hills/

Today's film was the first part of Season Five for Teen wolf which I am still crazy about.

Other than The Big Bang Theory, this is the only teevee show that I do not want to miss.

I will admit that I came for the bare torsos but stayed for the monsters and killers. The horror.

I love Dylan Obrien who has matured beautifully and even in a very limited role Parker Posey now is an adult and while hard to see as a teen any more commands the screen whenever he is on.

I also think that the monsters are better.

They range from hideous to rather normal with a very evil twinge here and there.

A lot of variety.

And the cast is good throughout.

I will stay to the end. If it ever happens.

Look, Posey will have to give up being a high school student soon enough. But perhaps not. Maybe Twenties Wolf would work.

Not a normal Saturday.

First a Meeting. That's normal.

Then a meeting of the condo board, normal for a third Saturday.

It was hot but we still got a good crowd. We did not move inside. We are too cheap to pay the rent!

But it did hurry us along.

A lot of nice stuff happened and I gave my Financial Report with ringing and resounding joy as we are in positive territory as we head into our ninth month. Our Fiscal Year begins in October.

We tentatively approved the budget for the next fiscal year as we will not meet again until September and we handled some security issues which we do not do much about. People are on their own with their cars and so on. It is not gated and we do not have security personnel.

Also some talk about where and how to manage in the drought. We have a lot of trees and bushes which we will do our best to preserve but we have already let go of the grass. No seeding this year. Minimum water. And a prayer.

Then home and a nap and on to a normal day.

Today's "movie" were more Teen Wolf Season Four episodes. I am a third through.

This series still just stops me cold. I am transfixed. As you know, I am not a teevee fan of any kind but I get this one totally.

I went back in time today for my current favorite series.

Teen Wolf Season 3, Episodes Silver Finger and Riddled

I was just getting ahead and found out today that they are renewed for Season 5 so there is a long period of catching up ahead of me.

It is a puzzle to me why I like it so much. It is, of course, well produced and very well acted. It is done completely without irony. Straight on. Not camping it up in any way.

In this way the viewer can take it seriously. The fact that each episode is more or less self contained helps this.

There is a bit of suspense as the hour ends but not so much that we can't wait a bit for the next time to come.

They do not overdo the beginning catching-up part either. A few well chosen words and we are on our way. Bang. You get on the train very quickly after that.

It has been awhile since I saw the last episodes. I was away, there have been other films. All that. But I got on very quickly.

I immerse. I do laugh and even get teary. They have me where they want me.

On reflection it is rather silly but not when I am in it. So I don't reflect. I just put the disc in, sit back and let it go.

Today's movie was/were two more episodes.

Teen Wolf First Season

The characters are still developing but the story line is firming up.

I would not say that this is tongue in cheek although there was one quick instance of looking right into the camera with all but a wink.

The style of this is very consistent. They must have a huge show runner file or, I suppose, he watches this very closely being the first season.

I watched a bit of director commentary, enough to learn that these guys are serious film nuts. The homage and reference stuff is very thick. Of course this makes no difference except that it means nothing is left to chance and no detail is too small to ignore.

The cumulative effect is quite good.

Today, I got the first emotional tugs which is always a good sign. There is a little history shown which causes mild tear burn and a little heart bump.

The excitement goes without saying. They keep the heat on.

There is a strong rapport between the men. "The gays" always sense this. They trust each other and need each other in ways that are not what you would normally find. But then, these are a minority. A hunted few. Gotta stick together.

I like Dylan Obrien (pic), the sidekick role. He is also instrumental, the guy with the werewolf facts and the one who can be counted on in a pinch to help out, save the day and, of course, provide an emotional break.

I don't intend to get into plot with this much.

There is no point, really. You have to be there to get it.

We are hooked. I just ordered the second disc.
