I am in a hurry today. Busy. So here are some highlights.
I went to the gym this morning to find that the new hours are not going into effect. There was a major protest. Petitions. It seems that while no one actually goes to the gym from 11PM to 4AM, well not many, they are outraged that this perk would be taken away. Funny. So management capitulated. The gym stays a 24 hour gym. The only one in Palm Springs. Wow. And some people say that demonstrations and protests don't work.Ms. T. Boone Pickens is going to adopt all 30,000 of the mustang horses and burros now in BLM pens awaiting adoption. Or slaughter. There haven't been many takers and in this economy they thought there wouldn't be. So she is taking them and looking for land to let them be wild horses again. I really like this. It is 'us' at our best. Rich people do have a heart. Sometimes.We have the H/AC guy here today to do the winter setup and check. They say we are going to get winter conditions in a week. 40s. Some rain. Jeez. We will be ready.The market is up as I type. Hovering around +100. So far so good. It is definitely looking for its bottom. I read yesterday that an 'independent' agency had decided that the recession started in the US last April. They think it will last 14 months. That is next June. "They" say that the market begins to turn upwards 6 months before the end of the recession. That would mean we will see it go up in January. Huh? Others say we are in the shitter until 2010.
