Over and out
I am not going to get on the Trump administration until it actually begins to serve.
Too much crystal balling. And I actually am optimistic about part of it. Yeh. Me.
But I can say this now.
I am glad that the Clintons are over. So over that even their friends are now toxic in the Democratic Party.
Unsealed Documents Outline F.B.I.’s Reasoning in Clinton Case
Keerist. We have had enough already.
The problem with the Clintons is that they and their people were always trying to cut off a corner or to get an edge.
And they got caught at it.
I am not sure which is more vexing. The cutting of corners or the getting caught.
At least I am honest about that.
It is time to start over. An interregnum. Let's get another Democrat who is a winner and who is far away from the Clinton curse. Untouched and ready to do battle with the GOoPers.

Touch touchy
The Clintons are very sensitive.
There is nothing new in that.
But the paranoia gets very boring.
They fail to see that people are picking on them because they are in politics. Duhhhh!
And not only that, they are particularly vulnerable to bullies because they do the first thing that a victim is taught not to do. They cry and whine.
I learned that one as a kid and a sissy. Complaint and cry baby stuff only eggs them on.
The Clintons have not learned that.
Now here comes Bill.
Bill Clinton Blames GOP and News Media for Wife's Email Woes
Yup. It is someone else's fault.
First of all, the email thing is pure Clinton. Second systems, hidden files. They are always asking for it. Political masochism.
This is why I hope that Joe Biden can overcome his own burdens and decide to run. We need him now.

And then......
I fully believe Biden's position at this time.
And, I also see it as a really effective campaign step if he does choose to run.
Cynically, we could believe that this is to throw the Clintons off balance. It sill surely do that.
A no is a no and Joe did not say no. He said "not now".
There can be no joy in Clintonville today. She has got to be watching over her shoulder. And if nothing else it will keep her from getting that old Clinton hubris going. The kind that sinks them every time no matter how good they are.
The Clinton curse.
She is as bound up in it as he is.
But when they are threatened, they are at their very best. On their toes and doing the right thing. The thrive on trouble.
And if there isn't any brewing on the outside, they will stew some up themselves. Bill will be found with an aide on his lap. Hillary will be found lying about something. It is an act and like all acts requires constant rehearsal to keep fresh.
Of course, they are not unique. All politicians have this shell self they project. But the Clintons have made it an art and often seem to believe it themselves. Not a good idea, that one.

Shadows
It is always something with the Clintons.
Clinton says family paid State Dept employee for email work
Even I think this sounds fishy.
But she will string it out with explanations just like they always do.
I really do not give a dump about whether she had personal or political emails on her server at State or in her personal office.
But they protest so much and explain at great length so that the shadow of a doubt lengthens or, worse, the shadow jumps out from behind the corner where it is lurking and that is all we are talking about.
Not any issues that matter. Not why it is time for a Democrat to hold the highest office. Not where the interest of the people lie.
With the Clintons it is always them first.
It really pisses me off.

This is how they roll
Leave it to the Clintons.
Tom Harkin Cautions Joe Biden Against Running for President
Public personal advice. An old hand at this, Harkin.
Of course, this is the kind of shit that goes on all the time in politics. The Clintons do not have their brand name on it.
But it is typical of the kind of hand to hand combat that Biden will face in the coming days.
Of course it is quid pro quo.
Look at this photo. Bill and Hillary going so far as to hold hands in a Harkin rally. In Iowa, you better hold the wife's hands not some floozy. But they don't look very convincing. Hill has her thousand yard stare going. Bill is becoming an old lump.

Warming up, feeling the Bern
I am warming up to Bernie Sanders.
Read this.
Bernie Sanders Draws Big Crowds to His ‘Political Revolution’
I am even beginning to believe he has more than a ghost of a chance.
He is certainly going to push Ms. Clinton to the left.
Or at least be a big fat pain in the ass for her. She will not be able to hide out which seems to be her present mode.
Unlike James Webb, who took a small plunge, Sanders has charisma. Not the usual kind. Not the Clinton kind.
He is a Socialist. Not a Democrat. But Socialists cannot be elected to high office in this country. The booboisie has it that anything socialist is communist and that is that. A red.
This might be my last Presidential election.
Well, I hope it is not but you never know. In that case, I want it to be at least fun.
And that is the biggest thing about the Clintons. They are not fun. Obama was fun. Biden is a lot of fun.
The Clintons have no joy. And Hillary the least.

Late bloomer
Well, this is new.
Hillary Clinton, Loudly and Proudly, Taps Into a Vein of Support Among Gay Voters
The problem I have always had with Clinton is her stance on gay issues.
Mrs. Clinton does not have the most cutting-edge record when it comes to gay rights. She did not speak out on behalf of same-sex marriage until 2013. But what she lacks on the policy front, she is trying to make up for partly with a tongue-in-cheek recognition that in her decades in the public eye she has developed a certain pop culture status, particularly among some gay men who identify with her triumphs over adversity, her redemption, and her evolving personal style.
Well, this is decidedly "tongue in cheek".
She has not been at the front of any gay person's list because she is a tight ass on most social issues involving sexuality.
Which is natural for her. She is a Clinton, of course. And the Clintons do not take unnecessary political risks.
I suppose there is some "danger" that "the gays" would go for Martin Omalley or some other pretender to the throne but that is unlikely.
Gay people like any other people who rise against the odds and we do have to give Hill the point here.
She has certainly come up from behind in many ways.
The only problem that I see for her, really, is to keep Bill out of it. The white head bobbing behind.
A friend had a chance sighting of Bill in London the other day. White hair, extra thin body, a surrounding of gorillas. No handshaking. He is still the Big Dog.
Can he stay out of his "wife's" way. I say "wife" because I do not believe for a minute that they are still partners in anything. But that is surely none of my business. Other than the worry that Bill will step in the shit somehow. The mouth which will not stop running. The ego which knows no bounds.

Clintonossary
There is no doubt that Maureen Dowd is a heartless bitch.
But she is a must-read especially as regards The Clintons.
With the Clintons, Only the Shadow Knows
I had never heard about the portrait with a shadow of the dress!
It is shown in living color.
Anyways, as they say in Arkansas, we have here a discussion of the "secret" emails.
Here is a neat quote."Certainly, Hillary wants a lot of control. She has spent a lifetime cleaning up messes sparked by her overweening desire for control and her often out-of-control mate."
Yep.
You have to admit that the Clintons are more interesting than the Bushes, the other royal family. The Bushes may have their drunk jock and their mother from hell but they don't touch the Clintons for drama or skullduggery. I mean there is certainly stuff that happens with the Bushies but they are so protestantly boring.
The Clintons lack the class of the Bushes and so their travails are a lot more fun.

Drought's End
I am so happy today!
You will notice the abundance of political news. The Presidential variety. All very good. Most or all of it about Hillary Clinton.
Now comes before the blog, this beautiful piece of work by Timothy Egan in the NYT.
Some of it is hilarious. Some of it irreverent. Wonderful!
On Mount Everest, just shy of the summit, the final rock-and-ice obstacle that stands between a climber and the highest point on the planet is known as the Hillary Step. It was named for Sir Edmund Hillary, who made the first ascent of the mountain along with Tenzing Norgay in 1953.I love the bundling. Billary all over again. Only the other way around. The other Hillary — who is not named for the mountaineer from New Zealand, contrary to what she and her husband had long claimed — is at the crux of her life climb. But Hillary Clinton is stuck at her own Hillary Step.
The myth making, self aggrandizement and inevitable overstatement. Good ol' boy chatter box stuff. Remember, Bill is an old Arkansas Bubba and Hillary married him. Bubba redux. Bubbette?
Egan is more or less a liberal, a reliable Democrat-type voice. And he is right where I am. Turned off by the Clintons. Period.
It is all bubbling up again.
Great theater.
Maybe my last general election, but probably not. I plan on at least three more.
