Concession
I watched Sanders concede to Clinton this morning.
Live.
It was a gracefully done speech but also long and drawn out.
One of Sander's problems was/is the verbosity.
He can be a real snoozer. It is though this is his big chance to get shit off his chest and dadgummit he is going to do it.
But I should jut be happy that the march to the convention is over and that the Demos can have as triumphal event as the Republicans are hoping for.
But, I am betting, the GOoPers will find it difficult to get.
We shall see what we shall see.
Trump is a bully and an egoist and will load the thing with his kind of show. Vegas anyone?

Trouble in GOoPersville
The Republicans are in turmoil.
One only has to watch the three cable sets in my gym to see it.
There are so many candidates that none are getting coverage. Only the more outrageous Trump who, this week, has been chewing the scenery on all mornings, all of the time.
Apparently, in true GOoPer fashion, they had hoped to manipulate the process so this would not happen. Also, in true GOoPer fashion, their plans have gone awry and the results are severely wanting.
Party Rules to Streamline Race May Backfire for G.O.P.
Get a bag of popcorn and watch the show.
Have you seen Trump do his trump thing on people. He has the NYCity brashness down cold. Well, it is him. The arrogance of a billionaire and the canny street smarts of a knife fighter.
His neatly combed opponents are not ready for this. This unseemly behavior. This disrespect for the Party norms.
Watch his lips. Disdain. Dismissal. Someone said he had "butthole lips" but I am not going to repeat this canard. At least not in a headline. But they weren't wrong.
Trump simply does not give a shit because he does not have to. Ironically, it has driven enough of the yahoos wild to support him. The know-nothings of the right are crazed with excitement over this rich man who got his on the backs of the their own people. But this has always been true. The stupid always support their oppressor. Mice praising cats.
This is not a surprise. The booboisie of this country have always supported the most oppressive leaders. It is how Hitler rose to power. And a host of other hard hearted bastards who want power for power's sake.
Now Donald is not that bad. He has power already. He just wants some more, a sickness in and of itself. And he does not care how he gets this power.
Donald has the moves down. Good coaching. He is very good at self deprecation. The homely aside. He is like a dog with a bone. Stay away from me until it is gone. Dogged.
Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden are collecting money off this show.
Yes Biden. My man Joe. Here he comes. Slow but sure. Still "deciding" but doing all the right things.

And she is off!
By all accounts, Hillary Clinton's first ad, two minutes long, is a masterpiece.
Who would have thought.
Read this analysis. It focuses on how she has laid a clever trap for the GOoPers.
It is important to read a lot of this piece.
The candidate doesn’t even appear in the ad for the first 90 seconds. The visuals are a snapshot of very likable people, your fellow Americans, going about their daily lives. The mix of people is diverse, middle class and represent broad archetypes that will resonate with the average viewer. The characters depicted are real, approachable and totally believable. These people are your friends and your neighbors and they slip Hillary Clinton, someone who is most definitely not middle class, into this river of average Americana. Yet, for all its technical perfection, that’s not the real brilliance of the piece. The real brilliance of this piece is that it’s inviting Republicans to stick their head in a noose. It’s pretty much a foregone conclusion that Republicans will respond with attack ads. By being so consistent, the GOP has made themselves predictable and this ad is calculated to capitalize on the contrast. Instead of coming back with their own positive vision for America and actually arguing issues, Republicans will come back with attacks. That will be a strategic a blunder of monumental proportions and the announcement ad is engineered with that response in mind from the very first frame. The great thing about Republicans as an opposition is they can be counted on to shoot themselves in the foot and the extremist faction of the party, which can’t keep their mouth shut on a good day, will rise to the bait starting on Monday morning. Instead of talking about the issues, Republicans are going to spend all of next week talking about Hillary Clinton. What the ad did is put Clinton in the midst of a crowd of Americans and makes her campaign about them. So when Republicans start attacking her, by extension, they’ll be attacking their fellow Americans.Hillary Clinton’s announcement video that kicked off her 2016 presidential campaign will go down as one of the great works of political advertising and strategy in modern history. Decades from now Poli-Sci majors will be writing papers about that piece and what it meant to the 2016 election.
Well, here we go!
What fun!

Stirring them up
I knew it would be fun to watch the GOP primaries.
The fun has already started.
An Iowa Crowd Had A Surprising Reaction When Donald Trump Bashed Mitt Romney And Jeb Bush
You can count on The Donald to stir the part with a lot of vigor. Saying the obvious but saying it loud. Away from the supposed party line.
Of course he is right. Neither of these people make good timber. Candidate timber. That they do not cut it at the Presidential level goes without saying.
Romney cannot cut it. A third try would be disastrous, a calamity for the GoOPers. I should be glad about this but I am not. I worry for our Democracy when the best that one major party can do is deliver up a failed candidate, proven to be unpopular (still the same 47% I suppose) and an aristocrat that never had to work. The old man did it all. And Jeb. Well, the less said the better. I am sure that he is a nice guy. The sort of clueless member of a failed royalty. The idiot son. Well, he is not that bad but he is an empty shell. He is a Bush!
It is all very interesting. Trump of course is running his own campaign but he is a spoiler and uncontrollable.
If there is something that should not be uttered he will say it way out loud. I like him actually. Politically incorrect and not beholden to anyone else. A loose cannon.
Let the games begin.
This graphic is a little hard to read but it is worth throwing in here.
