Snowed in

So Snowden, the traitorous bastard who stole the secrets and released them, gets a year in the "new" Russia of Vladimir Putin.

This is pretty good.

7 Things Edward Snowden Should Do in Russia

It is a highly tongue in cheek rendition of what the kid is up for.

I liked the winter stuff.

Snowden has passed his due date. His actions are, by now, either old news or taken care of where damage has been done.

Look. The US has to condemn him and fight for his return. Even enough to snub the new Czar and call off the summit. Even though, there will continue to be relations with the Russia of today even though not cordial.

We can't afford to have his ilk carrying on any more than is going to happen with neurotic people getting, somehow, cleared.

Shit, I have lived more than half of my life with the Cold War and the tensions of atomic warfare by missile. This is nothing.

Neither are the actions of a guy like Snowden. I have seen this movie before. Sadly.

I have a missing piece in my empathy for guys like Snowden.

I do not think he is an idealist any more than I think that he is nuts.

I think he is a guy on a mission which seemed, at the time, to be a way to get attention for himself. I know. Some people are that twisted.

And it can be that simple. It is simple enough for me.

I would be OK except for the consciousness of it all. He signed up for the job. He went after the security clearance. Intent.

Idealism would mean that he never would work in such a place or pass the tests. He would be an outside guy. There are plenty of them around as far as the NSA business is concerned but I do not believe that he is one of them.

He is like Manning. A pernicious form of the spoiled brat and attention whore grown up. Insecure and lonely. He got attention. Now he gets Russia. The Mother. Old Whore. They deserve each other.

Read through the sights and what might fit his special interest. I liked the part about the icy streets that never, ever get cleared. Try living in a place where the government does not work at all and where secrecy is the modus operandi. A whore? Maybe a hypocrite whore.

TRAITOR ON THE RUN

This is exactly what I thought about when he was just in Hong Kong, not known for its open-ness, or China. Keerist.

“The cruel irony is that there are no press freedoms in either Cuba or Venezuela, yet Snowden who supposedly stands for transparency in government seeks refuge in police states like these two countries,” she said. “Those who misrule over Cuba and Venezuela, Raul Castro and Nicolas Maduro, do not allow independent free press, do not cooperate on terrorism related issues, disregard due process and an independent judicial system.”.....Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.), a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee
I don't predict a happy life for Snowden after he settles.

He might have read some about the famous British spies who exiled themselves in Russia for whom they worked.

The photo is from Equador where he is, evidently, headed.
