SPAM SCAM

This is a new one. I wonder what the "catch" is.

Hello, My name is DAVID HAMILTON, I want to order some product items from your store to my below address in Cyprus but before i proceed, i will like to confirm the type of credit card you accept as payment (VISA OR MASTER CARD) and if you can ship to the below address. Please let me know asap, so i can proceed with my request.

Best regards

I haven't/ won't answer of course.

Anyone know what the gimmick is?

I sort of collect these.

I have all the deals where I could help transfer funds to the US. And I have ones that an actual friend whose email list has been pirated "says" that he is stranded in London without funds. And some others. This is new. A little indirect, it would seem.

I got that same email and asked him what products he was interested in? I replied and now he is ordering our books in strange quantities, ie all the same quantity for each item. A big order of $4,500.

I don't want to defame anyone, but I am thinking he may want to pay with a stolen credit card.

What kind of "products" do you sell that you got his email?

Hi, we sell ladies dresses, based in the UK, very unusual order, like he has never sold ladies wear in his life. Beware, this is a nailed on scam!!!

Just got the same email ... he wants to order lots of product and then send his people (from Montana) to pick up items at our store (which IF it existed would be in Florida) ... We're a music band selling our CDs online. Weird. I'm not willing to see this through to the end because it smells super fishy.

Would love to know WTF?

Hey guys, I just got this as well, asked what he wanted and it was a selection of car parts, all in the same quantities.
It looked dodgy anyway but given that this has been tried before I think I'll bid him 'good day' ;)

Cheers
'H'

I just got this one... Looks like a stolen card scam to me. He asked me to use his card to pay his shipper via Western Union. Meaning of course that I'll get hit with a chargeback and the WU funds will end up in a dodgy account. Told him to go away.

Got this : Don't worry about the shipping cost because i have my personal
shipping agent in Ontario, Ca. 91762, USA that will come for the pick
up of the package in you stores and i have inform them about this
and they told me the best way to come for the pick up in your store is
for you to email me the below,DAVID HAMILTON

E-mail:davidstoresltd111@gmail.com

I guess they dispute the charges on their credit card and get all their money back and keep your product.

glad I ran a search on his name! He sent the same email to me.

....FUNNY how he ends it with "God will bless you"

Still at it. I received message today, April 2, 2012. Not replying.

I thought something was fishy. Glad I did a little research. Anytime they say they'll come pick up the books, it's a red flag to me.

We sell stained glass supplies, like glass, lead and solder etc for people making stained glass windows!!

I thought it looked fishy so googled for the address and found this thread.

Same email received here in the UK! Ignore and block his email address!

WOW! I got this SAME e-mail and I thought it was a strange request right up front so I decided to look him up. My website clearly states what credit cards we accept, plus the fact that I'm a brand new business, only opened up 28 days ago and I sell women's equestrian T-shirts...way different from car parts and large orders of books and all the other random locations this e-mail is targeting. Business owners BEWARE!! I'm not going any further but to tell him NO.

June 21st 2012, Christian Gifts Business. Got same email today. Admittedly, it was a bit tantalizing at first, but then my 'spidy-sense' went off so I googled and found this thread. Very grateful to esrose.blogspot for posting it.

just got this email today! good thing I looked him up.

We sell wholesale coats in NYC and I got this email forwarded to me from my boss to take this order. I questioned the legitmacy of this from the jump and after several emails back and forth I goggled the guy and low and behold SCAM. Buisness owners beware! Delete, delete delete this email! And kudos to whoever started this blog.

The scam is this, they pay with a credit card, you ship the goods, they refute the credit card payment, and you're left to fight the international claim till you give up.

We just got the same email and responses on Sept 12, 2012. Thanks for this blog and the heads up on the scam.

David Samos was the name used to try to order. wanted me to pay shipping with his credit card. Had me going for a day or two until I decided to google. Thanks to this blog.

Just wanted to update people that I recently received an email with the same mailing address, but was listed from a Mario Green.

Received same email (August 6 2013) from Mario Green of MG Stores Ltd. We sell fur garments and our website clearly states how we accept payment and provides an online order form you can complete.
