To the rescue, as always, Joe Conason in Salon: The President Who Took bin Laden Seriously. The prez he is referring to is not the current pretender. Conason wrote the exhaustive The Hunting of the President and is a personal hero to me for the work. The right wing attack machine is so continuous and pervasive (all those talk radio weasels) that guys like Conason are valued for continued truth telling and righting the record. Same here.
