Play of the Day: Malia Obama's "best birthday"

Here are some things I like about this.

They stay in a Holiday Inn Express. They take time with the kids. Even though it is obvious this is one big photo op. It is a nice one.

They try to have a normal life.

He does not like to have an entourage. I guess that will have to change. Or not.

And so on.

AP is not known for particularly sympathetic Obama coverage but this look behind the scenes, perhaps the first fruit of pool reporting, is a nice change up.

I like the reality of it and I also think that it is very canny politics.

Where are the McCain kids. The one with the 50,000 credit charge overdue?
