This is a Christian 527 ad for Obama.

I am very interested in how this is playing out.

The fact is that Obama is a born-again Christian. Not just a plain old vanilla one. Listen to him tell it.

The Republicans have no ad like this.

Of course there will be issue ads from the christist right but nothing as positive as this can be said about John McCain.

Things have a way of reversing and inverting themselves.

When I was active in the 60's my closest friend, Denny, was an American Baptist preacher and a progressive.

The last I heard he was getting his doc at the University of Chicago.

Dennis was the one who turned me on to grass for the first time.

It was very strong stuff. I tripped out.

So you have to know that there is a very strong tradition of leftist christian activism.

I used to go to Meetings at a soup kitchen that still had the Catholic Worker logo painted on the walls.
