He was a real bastard and we are well rid of him.

A bigot. He hated blacks, gays, all of us who had offended him.

An American fascist. When they throw that word around today they have no idea. He was the real thing.

He morphed himself into a sort of crusty old codger in his later years but those of us old enough to remember him at his prime were not fooled.

He was a wall to wall demagogue. World class.

He was outspoken and persistent in his abuse of people he disagreed with.

He lied. He cheated. He stole. He was without any redeeming social value.

An obscenity.

He is right there with Joe McCarthy and the rest of them.

A right wing fixture who was given way too much power by his colleagues. He ruled through fear.

He built his power base from his radio beginnings. He makes Limbaugh look like a mild flavored cheese.

Helms is the grandaddy of polarized race baiting attack politics.

He died in a nursing home. I hope that he suffered extensively and long.

There. How is that?

I am unrepentant for being so nasty. This guy was a real shit.

If, as he often suggested, there is a hell, I am sure that he is roasting on a spit at its very hottest point.

Turn him over again guys.

And make sure he knows that Obama is the new President, That will really hot him up.
