TIME AND AGAIN
Did I mention what a splendid application the Time Machine is? On the iMac.
I just 'lost' my 7000 or so image photo library.
I just opened Time Machine and went back an hour and restored the whole thing.
I might have found the file somewhere. Lurking in the finder files somewhere.
But I restored it in 5 minutes with the trip backward.
This is not the first time I used it. Several other occasions.
I can't restore non-Mac applications though. Or at least I haven't found a way to do it.
Any comments?
You should be able to restore anything. Time Machine has a special relationship with some Mac apps (e.g. Mail.app, iPhoto), but you can also launch it as a standalone application from the Finder. Then you can restore any file on your system.
